Six red cards flashed in ill-tempered encounter

THE referee’s report from the SFL Division 1A clash of Kilmacanogue and Annacurra last weekend is being eagerly awaited on by both clubs after six players received straight red cards during the game.
The referee in charge of the game was Pat Murphy from the Thomas Davis GAA Club Division 1 Football League - St Patrick’s 1-6, Blessington 0-5; Rathnew 2-8, Baltinglass 1-5; Bray Emmets 2-11, Hollywood 2-7.
Division 1A Football League - Avondale 5-8, Rathnew 0-10; AGB 1-10, Éire Óg Greystones 0-7.
Division 2 Football League - Donard-The Glen 0-10, Ballymanus 0-9; Newtown 1-11, An Tochar 0-8; who stood in at late notice for Eddie Leonard.
The game was marred by several flare ups in the second half and the red cards were dished out for striking offecnes and contributing to a melee.
It is understood that both clubs are intending to appeal the decisions.
Four Annacurra players saw red, while two Kilmacanogue players received their marching orders during the game. Stratford-Grangecon 1-12, Laragh 0-5; Valleymount 3-6, Ashford 0-14. Division 3 Football League - Enniskerry 1-6, Hollywood 0-9; Kilbride/Lacken W/O Éire Óg Greystones; Blessington 1-20, Newcastle 1-7.
Intermediate Hurling League - Glenealy 4-12, Avondale 2-12.
Minor Hurling Division 1 - Carnew 1-9, St Patrick’s 1-6.
