Local charities in the pink after donation

-

GLEN Mill Golf Club held its ‘Pink Lady’ golf day last month and last week they presented the proceeds to Greystones Cancer Support and to Purple House.

The weather was fabulous for the day and everyone enjoyed playing some great golf.

Joe Carroll was the brains behind the golf classic. He and a dedicated team did very well organising everything for the players.

Each of the two local organisations received the sum of €2,525 from the event and were both very grateful for the donation and the effort put in to earning it.

Sonia Walsh, chair of Greystones Cancer Support, said that special thanks are due to the Ladies Society of Glen Mill Golf Club.

‘ This is a very special club in a beautiful corner of County Wicklow,’ she said.

‘ The ladies are committed to those in our community who need help.

‘ They put their good intentions into practice and are leaders to us all. Greystones Cancer Support needs such help to continue its work.’
