Remembering Bobby

It is hard to believe that it is now just over a month since we lost Bobby Messett in tragic circumstances. Glencormac United in conjunction with the Messett family are running two fundraisers in his memory and the club appeal for your support.

On Friday, July 13, A Glencormac over-35s selection will face Garden County 35s at Ryders Field at 6.30 p.m. Players will pay €20 to tog out and all are welcome. Alan Prendergast has organised this and is also hosting an auction afterwards in Plucks and if you can help, please contact him at 086 6041232.

Then on Friday, August 24, the Bobby Messett Memorial golf classic will take place. This will be a relaxed four member Scramble and is at a cost of €240 per team which includes Green fees, Prizes and a meal after in Plucks with music on the night. This event was only launched on Sunday and at time of going to print, 23 of the 30 team slots were booked but still a few available around Lunchtime. Mark Kinsella Funeral Directors have very kindly boosted the fund by donating a €1,000, Charlesland Golf Club have been most generous with Green fees, Plucks have once again been excellent with their support but Prizes and Green Fees for other Golf Clubs are still required.
