Old Downes Road is finally resurfaced

-

Resurfacing of the Old Downes Road in Delgany havs been completed.

Speaking last week, Cllr Nicola Lawless said the state of the road had been getting progressively worse over the last number of years.

Cllr Lawless said she has met residents of the road on several occasions in a bid to help them get the road resurfaced.

‘For a long time, the residents have on the Old Downs Road have had to put up with a road that had more craters on it than the moon. The bad winter which seen heavy snow made the condition of the road worse, making the road almost undriveable.

‘I raised this matter along other problems regarding this road going back almost four years now and I am delighted that Greystones Municipal District has finally addressed all the issues I have raised, including the resurfacing.

‘When I first got elected there was serious flooding problem on this road, having raised this issue with the District engineer, drainage works have also been addressed.

‘I’m delighted that all the issues the residents have raised with me on the Old Downs Road have now been addressed and hopefully it will be happy driving from here on for the residents.’
