Beautiful floral display

THE Delgany and District Horticultural Society annual Rose Show was held recently at St Patrick’s school in Greystones.

The beautiful sunny weather complimented the magnificent display of Roses, Sweet Peas and a variety of summer flowers - Begonias, Sweet William, Violas, Lillies and Lupins. The very colourful hanging basket displays were a delight and much admired by the large attendance at the show.

There was a fine display of fruit and vegeta- bles and it was encouraging to see a beautiful presented basket of summer vegetables grown by the pupils of St Patrick’s school on display at the plant stall.

The Committee thank all those involved in making this annual show a success

The judges had a very difficult task of awarding the cups in the different classes. Entries came from Greystones, and from as far as 100 km away. The next show will be the Dahlia Show to be held at the same venue on Saturday, August 25.
