Students hit right notes as they pen own songs
ST KILIAN’S was alive with the sound of music last week for the annual Music Generation Rock Camp.
Ann Nolan of Music Generation Wicklow said the event had been a great success.
‘ This is the third year of our camp and it was mainly teenagers which attended it. The week long camp showcased some great talent. A lot of the focus this year was on song writing and the students wrote their own song during the week as well as performing a cover.
‘It was a mix of rock and contemporary music and the students formed into bands. At the end of the week we had a end of camp concert which was attended by the parents and tutors.
‘ This year our tutors were singer songwriter Lesley Dowdall, Mark Caplice who co-wrote this year’s Eurovision, musician Todd Doyle and musician Rama Block.
‘All the students really enjoyed the whole experience especially the song writing and many of them have attended our music camps in other years’, said Ann.
