ST ANTHONY’S CHURCH

St Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole will celebrate its 50th Anniversar­y on July 29 this year with Mass at midday in Kilcoole. As part of our year of celebratio­n we would like to do a photo display of events taking place in the church over the past 50 years.

It would be wonderful if you could share some photos of your church celebratio­ns with us. Photos should be clearly named with contact details and can be left in the sacristy in Kilcoole or email to stanthonys­church50@gmail. com. We appreciate any photos and we will ensure that all photos are returned safely.

BINGO

Come join us for Monday Night Bingo in St Patrick’s Hall, Kilcoole. First game at 8 p.m. €10 per book (to include loose sheet and jackpot game). Extra loose sheet €1. Raffle Tickets on sale on the night. All welcome to attend.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

The centre is available for bookings (e.g. classes, meetings, birthday parties). Bookings can be made via email kilcoolecc@ gmail.com or by phone 01 2872017. The office is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is closed for lunch between 12.30 p.m and 1.15 p.m.

INDOOR BOWLS

Bowls takes place every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. in St Patrick’s/Forrester’s Hall. New members are welcome. Why not give it a try.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

All are welcome to come along to the parent and toddler group at the community centre from 10.30 p.m. to midday every Wednesday. €2 per child.

NOTES

If you would like to have a notice included in the Kilcoole notes please email jenniferwi­cklow2016@hotmail.com. WDSL will look at a shield competitio­n for these age groups.

All Fixtures Competitiv­e and Non-Trophy will finish weekend of November 17/18, followed by the WDSL Awards, Presentati­on Day in the Parkview Hotel Sunday, November 25 (details times etc to follow in October).

The under-11s website has been updated with Champions League Groups (Format) Fixtures Set for Group Stages, four groups in each, top two in each group into Cup Quarter Finals, Bottom two in each group into Plate Quarter Finals. Group Stages will be Home and away Q/F, S/F and Finals winner on the day. (WDSL will look to run finals on neutral grounds)

The WDSL will be hosting/running a number of invitation­al tournament­s for different age groups over the summer and the details are as follows:

The WDSL will be Inviting DDSL teams, Carlow teams and Wexford teams to enter, there will be a limited number of places available so if interested clubs must put forward their interest sooner rather than later.

Weekend of July 28/29 – under-10s and under-12s Girls Blitz (seven-a-side) Girls born 2008 and 2006 Woodlands Greystones.

Weekend of August 4/5 – under-12s Players Born 2006 (ninea-side) Celtic Park Arklow.

Weekend of August 11/12 – under-8s/9s Blitz Tournament and under-10s/11s Blitz Tournament (Both seven-a-side) Celtic Park Arklow.

Weekend of August 18/19 – under-14/15 Tournament Players Born 2004/2003 (Whitegates/Finlay Park Wicklow)

Newtown Juniors will hope to run their popular Mini World Cup competitio­ns in the lead up to the restart of the WDSL season.

We have two players from our under-12 team celebratin­g birthdays in the coming week and they are Grace Murphy and Jack Coughlan. Happy birthday Grace and Jack from everyone at Newtown Juniors FC.

There are also a couple of slots on all our teams at the moment so if there are any girl’s or boys who would like to join the club please contact our secretary Hughie at 087 6987653 and he will provide you with all the informatio­n you will require.
