Bugle Babes bring ’40s harmony to The Whale

-

1940s harmony trio The Bugle Babes will be in Greystones this Friday, August 31 for their ‘Gee Whizz!’ tour at The Whale.

The Bugle Babes were formed by Derby Browne and are a superb 1940s style harmony trio, performing hits from The Andrews Sisters with a cocktail of jazz, swing, jive and lashings of vintage glamour and romance, reminiscent of the days of the wireless.

This trio of pencil-skirted, vintage coiffed, stockinged ladies perform a magical blend of music and are the icing on the cake at any tea party.

Enjoy ‘The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’, ‘In The Mood’, ‘Rum and Coca-cola’ and a 1940’s version of ‘I Will Survive’ and plenty more surprises in the Biscuit Tin. The Bugle Babes have performed all over Ireland from The National Concert Hall to the Cork Opera House, and on radio and television; including The Late Late Show, Ryan Turbidy, and to ‘Knock ‘em dead’ reviews at the American Embassy on Veterans Day.

They are also a regular act upon the stage of The Sugar Club in Dublin.

Whether adorned in retro military uniforms of soft satin dresses, the Bugle Babes style is pure vintage from their victory rolls all the way down to the toes of their seamed stockings.

The ladies will be performing the hits from their recent debut recording, ‘Gee Whizz!’

Tickets are €25 and available at whaletheatre.ie.
