WSPCA’S KIDS’ DAY IS A GREAT SUCCES
WICKLOW SPCA pulled out all the stops for a special open day held on Sunday and aimed especially at children.
There was a steady stream of visitors in and out of Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary in Ballygannon for the duration of the day. While there were plenty of activities to be enjoyed, the biggest attractions by far were the wonderful dogs and cats currently residing at the sanctuary until they find a new loving and permanent home.
Tina Binions of Healing Hands Therapeutic Riding Centre delighted many of the younger visitors by providing exciting pony rides.
Guests also brought along their own dogs, some of whom were former Sharpeshill residents, and Emmaline Duffy Fallon of Citizen Canine Ireland was on hand to provide dog training specifically aimed at child owners.
A stall from Black Sheep Crafts sold their selection of knitted wares and cuddly toys and there was also a children’s book stall to browse through before deciding on a purchase.
If you think you can offer a loving home to any of the animals then please contact the Wicklow SPCA at (0404) 44783. Home vetting policy applies.
Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday and Bank Holidays 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
