Have it easy
was a constant thorn to Newcastle.
He was always an outlet to the long ball and linking terrifically with his support runners coming through.
The best example of this was when he set wing back Jack Miley in on goal where with a little more composure he could have goaled but settled for his point.
Fitzpatrick landed another free before Flynn proved he was more than a playmaker with a point after a barreling run. Stephen Byrne off the bench, Jack Miley with his second and Fitzpatrick with his sixth of the evening finished out the scoring.
Newcastle, although limited, were well coached, and in Robbie O’Gara have a player who would cause any defence problems.
Valleymount, although comfortable, know they will have to up their game considerably if they are to beat the heavyweights left in this competition.
They had good performers with Liam Miley and James Fitzpatrick who had a ding dong battle with Newcastle centre back Ruairi Farrell to the fore.
However, Flynn was this reporter’s man of the match with his workrate providing chances for many.
The Junior A championship is building to an exciting climax with any team from Valleymount, Baltinglass, Aughrim, Kilcoole and An Tochar all fancying their chances. If Valleymount do put in a full 60-minute performance that they are capable of they will be hard to beat.
