ART CLASSES

Adult art classes, drawing and painting for beginners and improvers are starting on Thursday, September 6, and continuing to November 8 in the Roundwood Parish Centre Frances from 10 a.m. to midday. YOGA CLASSES

Yoga classes will resume on Thursday, September 13. In Roundwood Parish Centre. Class is from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include Asana (physical exercises to stretch and strengthen body) Breathing Techniques Relaxation/Meditation. VARIETY GROUP AGM

Roundwood Variety Group will hold their AGM in Roundwood Parish Hall on Tuesday, September 4, at 8 p.m.

LUNCH CLUB

The next Active Retirement lunch club will be in Byrne and Woods on Friday, September 7, at 1 p.m.

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s every Thursday night from nine till 11 p.m. Music for September will be by the Okane family. If there is enough interest we will start jiving lessons again this season. Watch this space.

ACTIVE RETIRED HOLIDAY

All money must be paid for the Active Retirement holiday to Waterford before September 7 to secure your place.

BADMINTON

Roundwood badminton will resume in Aras an Tochar next Monday, September 3, at 8 p.m. We hope to see all our members back in form for another season and also would love to see any new people who would like to join us. Social members are always welcome. Don’t worry if you don’t have a racket, one can be supplied on the night.

WHIST

The next whist is this tonight Wednesday, August 29, in the Parish Centre, Roundwood.

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw. The numbers drawn were 1, 18, 28 and 30. There were eighteen match-three winners. 4, 11, 18 and 21. Next week’s jackpot will be €19,300.

Next Roundwood Parish Hall Dance Friday, October 26, with music by the Jimmy Hogan.

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

MONEYSTOWN 45

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8.30 p.m. for the summer months tea served.

MUSIC IN CALARY

The following concerts will take place in Calary Church during September:

At 8 p.m. on Friday, September 7, Sarah Power (soprano) will be accompanie­d by Andrea Linsbauer (piano). They will perform favourite works by, among others, Bach, Mozart, Puccini and Schubert. Ella Nagy will join them with piano solos. Ella is another very promising young Irish pianist.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, at the Janet Ashe Memorial Concert, Fiachra Garvey (piano) will play works by Brahms, Chopin, Field, and Rachmanino­v which he will be performing in Germany three days later and at various UK festivals.

At 8 p.m. on Friday, September 14, Miriam Roycroft (cello) and Lance Coburn (piano) will play works by Beethoven, Chopin, Martinu and Moeran.
