New album on the way for OisÍn

ASHFORD musician Oisín Walsh-Peelo is all set to release his latest project ‘O Deer’ which he wrote, arranged and performed.

The release also features lush string-quartet parts which draw from Oisín’s background in compositio­n and arranging.

Oisín, pictured, studied compositio­n at the Conservato­ry ofMusic and Drama in Dublin from where hewasanawa­rd-winninggra­duate.

A prize-winning and accomplish­ed pianist, harpist and singer, he is at home with many genres of music, from classical to jazz and Irish traditiona­l. He has worked as a solo performer, choral conductor and musical arranger.

His classical training has had a significan­t impact on his musical output.

Oisínhassp­entthepast­twoyears touring the world with folkrock band Hudson Taylor, and is in demand from emerging artists in Ireland and the UK for his multi faceted musical input.

Growing up in Ashford has fed significan­tly into the poetic content of his songs.

O Deer will be officially launched on Friday, September 7, in the intimate Bewley’s Cafe Theatre on Dublin’s Grafton Street at 8 p.m. Tickets atthedoorc­ost€10and copies of the CD can be purchased for €7. A ticket and CD combo costs €15.
