Soccer action

-

Glencormac United under-14s returned to action last Sunday with a 1-1 draw away to Ashford. In a tight first half, the hosts took the lead just before the break. However, Glencormac came out all guns blazing in the second half and a great run by Luke Kelly, where he drifted past three players was swept to the net by Oisin Kelly. The Glens were then reduced to 10 men when the Glens player was more sinned against than the sinner but yet saw red but the glens dug deep and held out with 10 men. This week they face Greystones at home.

The seniors are back in the Premier and will have their first match at home in Ryders Field this Sunday at 11-30 to accommodate the opening of the GAA Clubhouse in the afternoon.

While on the subject of the clubhouse, everyone at Glencormac United would like to congratulate both the hard-working committee and dedicated club members that worked so tirelessly to get this new Clubhouse built and opened. They received many stumbling blocks along the way but never gave up the dream of reaching this day and what a proud day it will

be for everyone on Sunday. Well done to all at the club and let us hope that the building is treated with the respect that is required and the club never have a repeat of the pointless vandalism that it suffered in the past. Well done to all at Kilmacanogue GAA Club, enjoy your proud day.
