Talk to address ‘Gardening for Birds’

Author Declan Murphy will give a talk entitled ‘Gardening for Birds’ at the Horse & Hound in Delgany on Tuesday, September 25, at 7 p.m.

Declan Murphy is the author of ‘A Life in the Trees’ which portrays the woodpeckers in Ireland. He will talk about how to care for our feathered friends and ways to attract the widest possible number of birds into gardens. Topics will include what plants to grow to attract and feed birds and also to encourage them to nest. Declan will also cover the benefits of various bird food such as seeds, meal worm, sunflower hearts, nuts and apples for a variety of birds. This event will be hosted by Delgany Tidy Towns.
