Musical society takes on The Cube

-

BRAY Tennis Club hosted the members of the local Musical Society for a fundraising night with a difference when the singers and musicians competed in a live version of the TV challenge show, The Cube.

The event was a great success with a spokesperson for the society telling this newspaper that all of the members in attendance had a great night out.

‘It was great craic and we had society members, friends who were there, and also Tennis Club members competing and it was all good fun,’ said Clodagh Egan.

The society is hoping to stage two separate shows in the coming months with the pantomime, ‘Frosted’, due to be held before Christmas.

The second show, the musical stage version of ‘Sister Act’ will be staged in April.

‘We’re concentrating on the panto at the moment and when that’s over our thoughts will turn in earnest to the musical,’ said Ms Egan.

The Cube was the first of a number of fundraising events the society has planned as it tries to cover the costs involved in staging the two shows.

‘It was a great, fun night and we’re very appreciative of everyone who turned up on the night and those who took part,’ said Ms Egan.

The society hopes to run a table quiz event in the coming weeks.

‘Frosted’ will be staged from Friday, November 30, to Sunday, December 2, and it being sponsored by local businesses.
