JUNIOR CERT RESULTS
Well done to all of our students who received their Junior Certificate results on Wednesday, September 12, The results were excellent and a result of all the hard work done by students and their teachers at Junior Cycle. The joint winners of the Joan Dowling.
Award for the best Junior Cert results were Liadáin O’Sullivan and Deirdre Whitmore, who will be presented with their award at our Mercy Day Assembly. The TY students received their results at 9.30 a.m. and then left for their Gaisce Hike.
The girls celebrated together as they hiked on the Wicklow Way and spent the night at Lough Dan, camping and in the hostel. 76 students completed the hike which is one of the requirements for the Gaisce Bronze Award.
KENNEDY SUMMER SCHOOL
The fifth and sixth Politics and society students attended the secondary schools event themed ‘Inspiring Ambition over Adversity’ in New Ross, as part of the annual Kennedy Sumner school. The event was hosted by broadcaster Chris Green and speakers were Senator Lynn Ruane and Sinéad McSweeney, Twitter Ireland’s Managing Director. The girls engaged exceptionally well and found it enlightening and hugely relevant to their subject.
EQUESTRIAN
Our Equestrian team were back in action at the weekend at Wexford Equestran. The team (Ella Devereux, Naoimi Devereux, Maeve Magee Katz with Sunita Jackson from Avondale Community College). all put in a super effort and rode very well. While they didn’t make the ribbons this time they are off to a good start.
Maeve Magee Katz rode Cruising Home in the Novice Individual 80 cm and came in third place for St Mary’s.
The team are all enthusiastic and ready to compete again next Saturday at Boswells Equestrian hosted by St Gerard’s, Good luck girls.
