Junior Musicals choir into live finals of Show Choir Ireland
JUNIOR Musicals ‘Les Miserables’ choir has made it through to the live finals of Show Choir Ireland.
They will be one of seven acts to compete in the final of the competition taking place in Dublin’s O’Reilly Theatre on November 3
Winners stand to win a trophy and €1,000, as well as a main stage performance at the RDS in February.
The choir prepared their pieces for ‘ The Greatest Showkids’ at the Mermaid Arts Centre last May.
The summer show also featured vibrant excerpts from The Greatest Showman, The Wizard of Oz and the Addams Family, while the tots presented their very own version of Cinderella.
The theatre school provides classes and performance opportunities for children aged three to 18.
The young performers have been working hard and can’t wait to take to the stage to compete in the national competition.
Junior Musicals is the longest established theatre school in County Wicklow and has been running in Bray since 1991.
Classes are based in musical theatre, which combine singing, dancing and acting.
There are also options to carry out speech and drama examinations with the Leinster School of Music and Drama, perform with the choir and be a part of the very successful ‘Junior Musicals Agency’. All students perform bi-annually in the Mermaid Theatre and enjoy many fun events throughout the year.
