Young musicians are sought for ensemble

-

Music Generation Wicklow is seeking young musicians who play any instrument and would like to become part of an exciting new project happening in Bray this year.

They are calling out for musicians aged 12 and older to be part of what they hope will be the biggest ‘band’ in Wicklow.

They are developing a culture of ensemble playing for young musicians who would normally play on their own or in small groups and would like to expand their repertoire and have the experience of playing as part of a large group.

Composer/conductor Andrew Synnott who has a wealth of experience composing, arranging and conducting has been appointed to lead the project along with eight Music Generation Wicklow musicians working in all genres. There will be weekly sessions for 15 weeks keeping with the academic calendar, beginning in mid-October and finishing in March.

They are looking for young musicians who are not total beginners but you don’t have to be very advanced. The main criteria are that you are interested in making music and joining up with other like-minded musicians. Any instrument welcome.

There is a very small registration fee of €10 and the commitment is that you attend all sessions if possible.

Registration is by contacting musicgeneration@ wicklowvec.ie or phone Ann Catherine Nolan at 0404 60505 or 086 7909887 by October 15.
