Whale Theatre and Daata team up for film

-

Mixing the sweet madness of Bombay with the lavish production values of old Hollywood, Bollywood accounts for nearly half of Indian cinema’s annual box office.

Which, given that the latter is the world’s largest film industry, with an annual output of 1,986 feature films a year, is really saying something.

And now Wicklow is about to succumb to the sort of lavish, deliciously OTT dance routines that would have Busby Berkeley spinning in his tutu as Greystones’ The Whale and Daata restaurant come together for one very spicy night on Thursday, October 4.

Given just how global Bollywood’s appeal has become in recent years, it’s hardly surprising that the busiest film production industry in the world made its way to Ireland recently, shooting the smash hit Ek Tha Tiger on the streets of Dublin.

Given that The Whale is always in search of new sensations to go alongside all the old favourites on offer, teaming up with the rather tasty Daata just around the corner makes perfect sense.

Fans of all things Indian can enjoy the full Paddy Goes To Bollywood experience a specially-created Daata menu at 7 p.m. followed by Once There Was A Tiger up on the big screen, where it belongs, at 9 p.m in The Whale.

Where a free large box of freshly-popped and hot-buttered popcorn awaits, alongside a full bar and luxurious surround sound. Tickets are €30 and available at whaletheatre.ie.
