Luisne invites families to enjoy all that the centre has to offer

- By MARY FOGARTY

Adults and children alike enjoyed a recent family fun day at Luisne Centre for Spirituality in Kilcoole.

Visitors got to explore the unique walled garden and Georgian house at Darraghville Convent, enjoy family friendly entertainment, and they got the chance to sample some of the courses on offer at Luisne. Activities, events and course tasters on the day included an autumnal foraging adventure for all the family, art and jewellery making for children, and a drumming workshop. There was also ‘soul bowl’ - sound therapy for health and transformation, and a healthy vegetarian cookery class. There was colourful dancing by the Bray-based group Moving Skirts, and a theatre performance of The Trans Mission Diaries.

Funds raised on the day will help with the upkeep of the house and garden.

There was music provided by Kerensa Barr, Emma o’Brien and others, with the weather remaining warm and dry for the wonderful event.

Emma Lock demonstrated Yoga, a teddy-bear hospital was on site throughout, and Luisne are very grateful to all of their volunteers, tutors and entertainers for making the day so special.

The autumn schedule of classes and workshops is now under way at Luisne. The programme includes yoga, meditation, retreats, sound therapy, and more. Luisne also has a variety of meeting rooms, workshop spaces and treatment rooms available for hire. For contact details to sign up with different practitioners, go to luisne.ie.
