LAKERS ‘GO AHEAD’ AND ENJOY DAY AT TAYTO PARK

-

MEMBERS of Lakers enjoyed a fun day out recently, thanks to the generosity of the transport company GoAhead.

They piled onto a double-decker bus recently, to be driven to Tayto Park in Meath.

It was one of the new drivers to the area who suggested the idea to his employers and ultimately made the day out happen.

The group was composed of Lakers members of all ages, as well as some family members and members of GoAhead and Lakers staff.

As well as transport, the company covered the cost of admission to the park, and lunch on the day.

The members had an amazing day out and everyone enjoyed the rides, refreshments, and plenty of good craic.

‘We are very grateful to GoAhead for their generosity,’ said a spokesperson for Lakers.

This followed a tough time for everyone in the Lakers community, with a fire having destroyed their premises on Seapoint Road and their four buses.

‘Everything is going great and we have been overwhelmed with the response from the community,’ she said. They have a temporary base in the old St Andrew’s school, with most activities back in facilities all over town. Their focus is now on finding a permanent home.
