Fourth Wicklow calendar hits the shelves

-

THE fourth edition of The Wicklow Calendar is out now and packed with pictures of beautiful Wicklow landscapes which have been donated by local photographers.

The calendar will be on sale in retailers across the Garden County and at cancer support centres for €10 each.

All money raised will go straight to the seven Cancer Support Centres in the county and the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. This year, both West Wicklow Cancer Support and Roundwood Cancer Support will benefit from the funds raised for the first time.

The project was the brainchild of Marlena Murphy, who worked closely with East Coast FM for the last 12 years and has participated in every East Coast FM Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning.

The calendar is in partnership with local designer and photographer Richie Kelly and designed, co-ordinated and executed by Marlena Murphy. The duo have raised over €21,000 in the last three years since the inaugural edition and hope to raise even more funds this year for these vital services in our county.

The team hope this year’s calendar will be an even bigger success than the last three years.

Founder Marlena Murphy says ‘We were overwhelmed with how successful the calendar became over the last three years and how many countries it reached.

‘It turned out to be a very popular Christmas present. We are very excited to feature a few unique locations and landmarks like Glendasafoss Waterfall and the Pyramid of Arklow,’ she said.
