PARNELL ATHLETIC CLUB

Our juveniles took part in the County League with good results all round: Girls–U6 1st Clodagh Phelan; U10 Helen Winterbott­om 1st; U12 Ciara Colohan 1st; U14 Lacey Shannon 2nd; Boys–U8 Will Phelan 2nd; U15 Edward Byrne 2nd. Also great running from the Corcoran sisters, Ella Breen, Emma Byrne, Isabel Barrett, Leah Barrett, Ava O’Connor, Ciara and Jamie Winterbott­om and Harry Kileen.

Congratula­tions to Mick Byrne in taking first place in the autumn Internatio­nal, Mick qualifies to run for Ireland in Swansea, Wales on Saturday, November 17.

Best of luck to all our athletes taking part in the Leinster Uneven cross country in Adamstown, Wexford on Sunday.

PRESENTATI­ON NIGHT

Avondale camogie club held their celebratio­n dinner in Jacobs Well on Friday last. Club chairperso­n, Caroline Kinsella was MC for the night, having a special welcome for club presidents Seán Fields and Pauline Kennedy. She congratula­ted all teams on a very successful year but especially the intermedia­te team. Tokens of appreciati­on for their hard work were presented to team manage- ment Helen Heffernan and Brian Olohan.

Medals for both league and championsh­ip were presented with Brian giving a brief sum up on each player. He made special mention of the three young girls who made the step up to intermedia­te, Ciara Clancy, Siofra Verveen and Orlaith Byrne. The club person of the year was Joyce Heffernan, Most Improved Player, Kelly Kavanagh and player of the year Katlin Olohan. A great night for the club.

WHIST DRIVE

Results of last whist drive – Top Score: S Brady and partner, second place – C Doyle and B Kelly; third place – B Farrell and T McHugh and fourth place – M Haughton and R Murphy. Raffle winners on the night – M Conroy, M Flood and R Murphy. Next whist drive will be held on Wednesday, November 14, at 8.30 p.m. in the Anne Devlin Annex.

RDA AGM

The RDA AGM will be held on Tuesday, November 20, at 8 p.m. in the Anne Devlin Annex. Everyone welcome.

The annual Parish Sale of work and auction will take place in the RDA hall on Sunday, November 25, starting at 2 p.m. Raffle tickets are on sale.
