Rebecca in Christmas concert

-

SOPRANO Rebecca Winckworth will be one of four of Ireland’s leading young musicians to perform in a Christmas concert special at St Anne’s church, Dawson street, Dublin city centre, on Wednesday, December 12, at 7.30 p.m.

Rebecca, a native of Newcastle, now living in Bray, will join Andy Dempsey (vocals, grand piano, guitar), Denice Doyle (violin), and Aisling Ennis (harp), for the special performance. Rebecca has performed across the world as lead singer and soloist with shows such as Celtic Woman, Titanic Dance and Ragús.

She is a long-standing member Anúna, the original Riverdance singers, with whom she recorded numerous albums, DVDs, and TV specials including the Diablo III soundtrack.

Rebecca was a special guest on Celtic Woman’s ‘Destiny’, which was nominated for a Grammy last year and was No. 1 in the Billboard World Music Awards.

The concert at St Anne’s will include a mixture of traditional Christmas carols, jazz, popular, folk and classical hits all within the festive sphere. Andy Dempsey and Rebecca first came together a few months ago with the idea as they felt there was an opportunity for something fresh and exciting on the Christmas musical scene. They decided it was an opportunity not to be missed and an opportunity to bring on board two other world class musicians in Denice Doyle and Aisling Ennis.

Tickets are €25 and available at classicsatchristmas.eventbrite.com.
