A hugely successful coffee morning, hosted by Colette Dunlea, was held on October 25 in the Brockagh Centre. It raised a total of €2,591 for Breast Cancer Ireland. Colette would like to thank all the people who contributed their time and effort in support of the cause: the many fabulous bakers, those who generously donated gifts for the raffle, the staff at the Brockagh Centre and everyone who turned up to enjoy the occasion. Your support is sincerely appreciated.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
A great way to start Christmas, in one of the most evocative settings in Wicklow.
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, December 18, at 7.30 p.m. for a unique event to celebrate Christmas. Begin- ning with a candlelit procession through the monastic gates we will proceed to the ruins of the candlelit Cathedral for an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Some of our most familiar carols would have been sung here by the monks of Glendalough themselves in the eighth and ninth centuries.
Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel courtesy of Pat Casey. This a free event and open to everyone, including children, which must be accompanied by an adult. Assemble in the Glendalough Hotel car park at 7.15 p.m. Wrap up warm and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice.

Our ever-popular Development Squad has started back and will continue every weekend from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. (Indoors) and new players are always welcome. The cost is €3 per head. Due to the lack of space in the surrounds of the Sports Hall it may not be possible for all parents to view training inside the playing area. Also due to the large numbers attending any players failing to attend for a number of weeks without communicating with the coaches may have to wait till spaces in the Squad become available again. At the moment we have a large number of boys and girls attending each week and thankfully at the moment we have the required coaches needed but we wouldn’t say no to a few more volunteer coaches. If you think you can give an hour or two each week please contact our secretary at the contact details below.
Three players from the club will celebrate a birthday around this time and they are Finn Heffernan from the Academy team, Max Synnott from the under-12s and Reece Gaynor from the under-14s. Happy birthday to all three from everyone at Newtown Juniors FC.
