Donation of €3K to Lakers

MEMBERS, staff and volunteers at Lakers were thrilled to receive a cheque last week for €3,220.

This was handed over by Bray Golf Club who held a members’ day of golf to raise the funds.

The funds were donated to Lakers following a fire which destroyed their transport fleet and left their premises unusable.

Anne King of Lakers said that the donation was very welcome and they are all very grateful for the generosity.

Golf is a very popular activity at Laker, with sessions at Bray Golf Club on Mondays and Tuesdays, catering for all levels.

Gerry Gilmore at Bray Golf Club is a lead golf volunteer.

‘We also sent escorts up and Bray Golf Club provides volunteers to teach and coach,’ said Anne.

In the months since the fire last October a number of groups and or- ganisations in Bray and beyond have decided to support Lakers.

They have either organised events specifically for the club, or decided to donate proceeds from their regular events.

‘We are really grateful to anyone who decides to help out,’ said Anne.
