-

ROB DONNELLY from Avonmore Musical Society, Arklow, was re-elected as National Vice President of AIMS (The Association of Irish Musical Societies) at the National AGM on Sunday which took place at the Arklow Bay Hotel.

While Rob held this position last year, it was not a foregone conclusion that his colleagues from all the around the country would vote to return him to this prestigious position in the organisation, but they did.

Seamus Power from Carrick on Suir MS was re-elected National President of AIMS, Frank Foley, Kilmainham/Inchicore M.S. Dublin, was elected National Secretary, while Moira Nolan Baldoyle MS Dublin was returned as National Treasurer and Kate Furlong from Coolmine MS was returned as National PRO.

The Arklow Bay Hotel was the venue where a large number of people travelled from the four corners of Ireland for the annual working weekend, meetings and National AGM.

After the meeting, Rob Donnelly thanked everyone for their support and re-electing him for the coming year and said he was ‘delighted to be part of this wonderful Association for Musical Theatre in Ireland which is a thirty two county organisation.’

Thanks are extended to the management and staff of The Arklow Bay Hotel, for the warm welcome and high standard of food and service visitors received from the minute they checked in.

The South East Region of AIMS were the hosts for the weekend and say a big thank you to everyone involved.
