Johnny Sayer was the main man for Rathnew AFC as they overcame Garden County ‘A’ 4-2 in their Harry Griffiths Over-35s Group A clash.

The prolific marksman bagged a hat-trick with Jason Devlin grabbing the other goal for the Village.

Garden County ‘B’ had a more fruitful afternoon as they beat Dundrum 3-1 in their Group B encounter.

Arklow United ‘B’ progressed to the quarter-finals of the Charlie Bishop Cup without having to kick a ball as they were handed a walkover from Ballywaltrim FC.

They face an away tie against Shamrock Celtic in the last eight.
