Annual Purple Heart Appeal taking place all this week

-

THE annual Purple Heart Appeal for Purple House Cancer Support is taking place at various locations during St Valentine’s week.

Members of the public can pick up a Purple Heart or Caring Bear from volunteers all over Wicklow and on Bray Main Street on Wednesday, February 13, and also from various shops on Thursday, February 14, including Tesco Bray, Tesco Express Bray, and SuperValu Bray.

The Purple Heart is a sign of support for anyone who is affected by cancer.

The organisation is asking people to wear the heart for a friend or loved one living with cancer, in memory of someone who has died, and in support of Purple House, who are supporting families and individuals affected by Cancer through the work of their cancer support centre and services.

Funds raised will go towards the play therapy and counselling service for children living with cancer.

Purple House would like to thank the many schools, businesses and shops who are holding Purple Heart Appeal events during February, as well as many individuals who are holding coffee mornings.

Purple House Cancer Support Centre is open daily on Parnell Road in Bray and provides a range of services including Counselling, cancer survivorship programmes, bereavement counselling, hospital transport and a range of practical services for both adults and children.

The organisation also provides outreach services in Dun Laoghaire and further afield.
