Raise a cup at the East Coast FM countywide coffee morning

-

THE 11th annual East Coast FM Coffee Morning is taking place all over County Wicklow this Friday, April 12.

The event raises money for the cancer support services around the county, as well as the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. Last year, the initiative raised over €92,000 for the vital cancer support services.

This year, West Wicklow Cancer Support and Roundwood Cancer Support are joining the coffee morning family.

As with every year since its inception, this year’s coffee morning will be bigger than ever with more events taking right around the garden county.

As well as the main coffee mornings in venues across the county, clubs, organisations, schools, nursing homes, families and businesses have all been organising their own events to help donate to the cause.

Events coinciding with the coffee morning include bake sales, non-uniform or jersey days, work coffee mornings or lunch breaks, casual Fridays, gigs, and raffles.

Every penny raised goes directly to your local cancer support service.

Celebrity supporters will attend many of the venues, and presenter Declan Meehan will be checking in live during the Morning Show on the day from 10 a.m. to 12 midday.

Venues include the Martello in Bray, the Comin Centre in Blessington, The Beach House in Greystones, the RDA Hall in Rathdrum, the Parkview in Newtown, Lawless Hotel in Aughrim, Kingfishers Kitchen in Enniskerry, the Red Bird Cafe in Bray, De La Salle Pastoral Centre in Wicklow, the Arklow Bay Hotel, Kavanagh’s Bar in Roundwood, the Arboretum in Kilquade, and Mount Usher in Ashford.

A table quiz will take place at the Bridge Tavern in Wicklow on April 25 at 7.30 p.m.

On April 28, East Coast FM is hosting ‘Race for Cancer’ at Avondale from 10 a.m.

Many other events either have taken place already or will be held to contribute to the total fund, including the proceeds of a family photo shoot with Eva Blake Photography on April 13 in Greystones. Email hello@evablake.ie to book.
