ST KILIAN’S HOSTING OPEN NIGHT

-

ST KILIAN’S Community School will hold their annual Open Night this Thursday, October 10, from 6.45 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is a great opportunity for local families to visit the school, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in the next school year.

St Kilian’s is widely known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and its inclusive ethos. In recent years, the school has been going from strength to strength. This year’s Leaving and Junior Certificate results were excellent and the school’s Leaving Certificate Applied and Transition Year programmes are particularly successful.

Earlier this year, St Kilian’s had a Whole School Evaluation carried out by the DES and received an outstanding report. Quotes from the inspectors included that students ‘showed high levels of motivation’, were ‘confident in using digital technology’ and their ‘ talents and interests were fostered’. They also said that teachers ‘radiated high expectations and ambitions for their students’ and that their ‘interactions with their students were highly supportive and affirming’. Management were praised for being ‘ highly effective’ and it was noted that the school has a very active Parents’ Association and that ‘communication with all parents is very good’.

‘Old friends and new are all welcome to come along to the school on Thursday evening to celebrate all that’s best about St Kilian’s,’ said principal John Murphy.
