HALLOWE’EN DISCO

There will a trail of gruesome ghouls, sensationa­l superheroe­s and creepy cartoon characters heading for Annacurra Community Hall this evening, as a children’s Hallowe’en disco takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hosted by Annacurra NS Parents Associatio­n, there will be music, spot prizes, a tuc shop and tea/coffee. Admission is €5 per child or €10 per family.

SPOOKY FANCY DRESS DISCO

A spooky, Hallowe’en fancy dress disco will take place in St Joseph’s Hall, Blessingto­n, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The disco is for children from third class to sixth class and all local schools are welcome. There will be prizes for the best dressed. Admission is €10 (paid at the door).

HALLOWE’EN DISCO

There will be fancy dress for all as Crossbridg­e Hall hosts a Hallowe’en disco from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. There will be treats, Hallowe’en games and a raffle in aid of Crossbridg­e NS. Entry is €5 for children (adults are free), €12 for a family of three or €15 for a family of four.

BOOK LAUNCH

Conor W O’Brien will launch his new book ‘Ireland Through the Birds: Journeys in Search of a Wild Nation’ in Bridge Street Books, Wicklow town, at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Niall Hatch from BirdWatch Ireland.

RACE NIGHT

A race night in aid of Wicklow Dementia Support will take place at the Martello from 7 p.m. until late. There will be a prosecco reception and finger foods during the intermissi­on. THOMAS GABRIEL

Thomas Gabriel, who is the eldest grandson of Johnny Cash, will perform at 8 p.m. in the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray. Thomas is a prolific songwriter. His own music brings to mind the likes of Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt and Tom Russell. Tickets cost €20 or €18 concession and are available from the Mermaid.

The Foroige Way Project, in conjunctio­n with local retailers, is running its free annual children’s Trick or Treat on The Street in Wicklow town. Children must be accompanie­d by adults as they follow the clues that lead them around the town and towards some Hallowe’en treats.
