Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney are seeking expression­s of interest for the position of Senior men’s manager for the 2020 Season. The team participat­es in Division 1 of the Wicklow league and reached the Senior football championsh­ip final in 2019.

Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney LGFA is seeking expression­s of interest in the position of Senior ladies football manager for the 2020 season.

AGB’s under-20s will play Bray Emmetts on Thursday evening away in Bray, following postponmen­t of the fixture last Sunday due to a water logged pitch. The team will then play St Pat’s at home on Sunday morning in Pearse’s Park at 10.45am. All support welcome for our under-20s.

AGB’s annual general meeting will take place on Friday, November 29, in the AGB Complex, Shelton.

Hollywood GAA Club lotto draw results, October 30. The numbers drawn were: 2, 19, 23 and 28. There was no winner of the jackpot.

The sellers prize went to Susan Tutty (536). The €50 winners were Mollie Burke (83), Matthew Kelly (360) and Annie Burke (86). The next draw for a jackpot of €12,400 will be held in The Hollywood Inn on November 13. Thanks for your continued support.

Hollywood GAA AGM will be held on December 1, at 4pm, in The Hollywood Community Centre.

It was a week of two games for our under-20 footballer­s in the championsh­ip.

On Wednesday night they travelled to Newtown to take on Bray and came away with a good result with the Full time score: St Pats 2-17, Bray Emmets 3-10.

On Sunday the opposition was Clara Gaels in a sunny Laragh at 11.30am. It was a day when nothing went right for the lads with the final score line St Pat’s 0-9, Clara Gaels 6-21.

The final group game is against AGB in Pearse’s Park on Sunday, November 10, at 10.45am.

PEIL na nÓg: Comhghaird­eas to Ballyconne­ll NS girls who were victorious in Roinn 2B of the Carlow Cumann na mBunscol competitio­n recently.

This was the school’s second victory in a row in the competitio­n. After last year’s comfortabl­e victory, this one was a far tenser affair.

Opposition, Newtown-Dunleckney battled all the way and Ballyconne­ll relied on some superb goalkeepin­g and stout defending to win the day. An Scór deiridh: Baile Uí Chonaill 2-4, Baile Nua 0-4. Maith sibh, a chailíní.

LATÓ There was no winner of the recent club lotto draw. The jackpot was €6,600. The four lucky winners of the lucky dip were: Liam Butler, Patrick Murphy, Imelda Keogh and Patrick Murphy.

The next draw was due to take place on Monday 4th November in Byrne’s, Clonmore.

LACKEN-KILBRIDE

Club social event in Avon Ri an November 22 from 8pm. All welcome.

This invite is for everybody involved in the club and not inviolved in the club and everybody in the wider community - everybody is welcome and encouraged to attand.

The ladies team who had a really successful season have organised a social event for the club, to be held in the Avon Ri, to celebrate their great season.

The date is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, and everybody in the community is welcome, club members, past players, etc, there will be live music and finger food.

Tickets cost €15, which you can picked up from Grainne (087 7855372) or Aoife (087 6061222).

The juveniles finished off a great year with a presentati­on of medals and kit bags last Friday with plenty of goodies all round!

This year, we had over 50 kids playing across our four teams of under-7, under-9, under-11 and girls under-14 – each team did really well during the year, with the final match for the under-9s last Wednesday in the floodlit blitz in Donard.

Diarmuid Haughian will shortly be going into the Kilbride National School, to pick up the slack in the winter months! Thanks to all the coaches: Under-7: Joanne Gahan with help from Daniel O’Riordan, Mick Byrne and Tadhg Duggan.

The kids (and parents) will take a few well-deserved months off now and we will regroup in March!

The club are looking for volunteers for a bag pack on November 23, 9am to 7pm in Dunnes Stores, Blessingto­n. You only have to donate an hour or two of your time at a minimum. Please help if you can. Contact Liz Broe on 087 3250663 (you must be over 16).

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY - We are holding a fundraisin­g race night in Kenny’s Central House Lounge on Friday, November 22.

First race goes to post at 9pm and as soon as the horses are stabled following the last race the very capable DJ JOEY will provide music and entertainm­ent until late.

We would of course appeal to anyone wishing to sponsor a race (cost €50) or help out in any way to get in touch with any committee member.

The Annual General Meeting of Shillelagh/Coolboy GAA Club will take place on Friday, November 29, in Coolafancy Hall.

A full review of our first and very successful year will take place and it would be encouragin­g to see a huge attendance of current and intending members present.
