Saoirse Ronan sells Greystones pad for a cool €1.6m

-

SAOIRSE Ronan has sold her house in Greystones for more than €1.6 million.

Ronan bought five-bedroom ‘Pine Lodge’ for €1.4 million from economist Alan Gray back in 2017.

The Edwardian style property went on the market two months ago, with an asking price of €1.5 million.

More than 30 prospective buyers viewed the house, including a well known Irish sports star and an actor.

The buyer of the property is not famous, it is understood.

The actress decided to sell the house as she rarely got the chance to enjoy it, due to being away so often for work.

The property is of Edwardian style, but built in the 1970s.

The listing released over eight weeks ago by Galvin Property read: ‘ The layout and finish will impress even the most particular and comes to the market ready for the new owners to move in, and invite their family and friends to ooh and aah.

‘Details of design and construction suggest inspiration from the neighbouring Burnaby area and the arts and crafts movement.

‘ Those details externally include a beautiful west-facing veranda that runs almost the length of the front, the wooden sash windows and granite sills, the red-tiled roof, tall chimney stacks and filigree ridge tiles.

‘ The current owner has painstakingly designed and decorated this open plan room so to be practical, comfortable and aesthetically impressive all in equal measures.’

Last year, the actress purchased a three-bedroom terraced house in London’s Notting Hill for €1.5 million.

A native of Carlow, the movie star grew up in Howth and has been nominated for three Oscars.
