This person will be responsible for the general upkeep of the church grounds and the overall maintenance and upkeep of the adjoining cemeteries. Work will involve strimming, mowing, blowing and tidying of shrubbery. No previous experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. St Mochonog’s School Christmas Fair: Was held last Sunday in St Mochonog’s School Hall, Kilmacanogue, from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. There were lots of stalls, light refreshments and a visit from Santa. Admission was free.
Legion of Mary – Kilmacanogue Presidium: Meet at 11.30 a.m. every Tuesday in the sacristy of St Mochonog’s. New members are most welcome. Group recite the Rosary on the first Saturday of each month at midday at the Grotto in the church grounds. Click on the link legionofmary.ie to view website.
CHORAL CHRISTMAS FEAST
Niamh Murray, Soprano and the Enniskerry Concert Choir invite you to ‘A Choral Christmas Feast’ on Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry at 7 p.m. Proceeds are in aid of St Agnes Centre for music and the arts, and the Enniskerry Parish Fundraising Campaign. Guest speaker for the Thursday, December 12, meeting of the Enniskerry History Society which meets under the guidance of its president John Callan, at 8.30 p.m. in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, will be author and journalist Ken Finlay, who will recall ‘366 Days of Dublin’ – all welcome, admission €5.

Present at the Sunday, November 27, 1904, meeting of the Kilmacanogue Cemetery Committee, chaired by Mr Augustine Ryder, were Mr Patrick Clarke, Mr C Lowe, Mr V Burke, Mr P Woods, Mr D Doyle, Mr F Byrne, Hon. Treasurer, and Mr A Fitzsimons, Hon. Secretary, who present details of the collections activities. Some subscribers had yet remit their funds and it was hoped that these funds would be hand by the time it came to publish a list of subscribers in the Wicklow People. Mr Clarke reported that work on the painting and decorating the entrance gate had been executed very skilfully and with great satisfaction by Mr Cullen, Delgany, whose work was also praised by other members of the committee.
SANTA’S ARRIVAL
Santa made a grand entry to Enniskerry Village last Sunday at 5 p.m. – He arrived on his sleigh to cheers of joy and laughter before getting comfortable in his Grotto at the Schoolhouse for art where he welcomed children and adults.
