Carol singing in Greystones

-

CAROL Singing in Greystones returns this week, with singers of all ages invited to join the Cecil Beare Ecumenical Carol Group for at least one evening as they sing around Greystones.

They start each evening at 7.20 p.m., and finish at around 9.30 p.m. No musical skill is required though greatly valued. Collectors are as valuable as singers and it is great exercise as well as being fun.

Householders are asked to have some cash ready as they won’t be able to take card payments.

Last year, the group collected over €5,000 which was distributed to the Poor Funds of the four Greystones churches, WH Five Loaves, Open Door, Greystones Cancer Support Group, Alice Leahy Trust, and Tiglin.

Participants should wrap up warmly and bring gloves and a torch, and if possible a high-vis jacket or reflective bands. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Call Ruth Handy to make any enquiries at 01 2875161.

The starting points are: Wednesday, December 11 – Nature’s Gold Shop for Burnaby area; Thursday, December 12 – Grattan Park near Donnybrook Fair for Grattan Park and Kindleston area; Monday, December 16 – Applewood Heights Veterinary Clinic for Applewood and Oaklands; Tuesday, December 17 – Fenton’s Shop for Hillside; Wednesday, December 18 – Brady’s Shop for Mountainview Park, New Road and Lower Rathdown Park; Thursday, December 20 – Fenton’s Shop for Heathervue; and Monday, December 23 – Top of Rathdown Park for Rathdown and Redford Park.
