Call for SMEs to apply for new EU funding

-

WICKLOW’S small agri-food, forestry and environment technology businesses are being urged to apply for a new round of EU funding.

An EU funded project, DIVA, aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is calling for SMEs to apply their digital technology to the agri-food, forestry or environmental sectors. It aims to encourage international collaboration between SMEs as the consortium is based across six European countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Ireland). In the last call for funding, 100 SMEs received funding towards 66 projects. Among those selected were four Irish SMES.

The call for applications closes on January 31, 2020 at 5 p.m. To apply for funding, an SME must be registered in one of the DIVA countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece or Ireland). Their project must be focused on digital technology in the agri-food, forestry or environmental sectors. Small to medium enterprises can apply for between €10,000 and

€60,000, depending on the type of project and the stage of development of the technology.

Th project also aims to foster innovation by providing a platform for stakeholders and technology providers to interact and collaborate to solve challenges.

DIVA’s next webinar series will take place online on December 17, 2019. The morning session will be a webinar presentation about the statistics of the first DIVA round and it will also share tips for making a successful application for the second call. A session in the afternoon will feature a series of business to business meetings where registered participants can arrange to meet with other businesses across Europe.

Anyone who is interested in this event can register at https://www.agrisudouest.com/ event/up2diva-european-online-edition-2019-12-17-1994/ register. For further information and application forms, visit www.projectdiva.eu.
