WICKLOWGARDA YOUTHAWARDS
THE PEOPLE of Wicklow are being asked to nominate deserving young people from across the county for the fifth annual Wicklow Garda Youth Awards.
Awards will be considered for young people who, by their very presence, make their communities or society in general, a better place to live in.
In addition to individual awards, there will be awards for groups of two or more young people whose combined efforts contributed positively to their communities or others in general.
Special Achievement awards will be considered for young people who have defied the odds or overcome difficulties during their lives. A Community Safety Award will be presented to an individual who has made their community a safer place to live through a crime prevention or safety initiative or innovation.
Anyone, including a family member, can nominate someone for an award.
To be considered eligible, the young person must be:
⬤ Aged between 13 and 21 ⬤ Permanently living in Co Wicklow
The winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony in the Parkview Hotel on Friday, February 21.
The Co Wicklow awards are part of national event and nominees that achieve the highest score in each of the four categories will be sent forward to the National Garda Youth Awards Competition, which will be held in April.
Nomination forms have been distributed to clubs, groups and organisations around the county and are also available by emailing emma.j.skinner@Garda.ie orvia the ‘Wicklow Garda Youth Awards’ page on Facebook.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, January 27.
