Avoca launches delivery service

-

AVOCA has launched a delivery and collection service at its Kilmacanogue store in response to Covid-19.

The new service is aimed at people at a higher risk to infection and those aged over 65, or to anyone who may find shopping difficult at this time.

A personal shopping service came into effect at Avoca Kilmacanogue and the company’s stores in Rathcoole and Dunboyne on Thursday, March 19.

There will be a specially designated order and collection point in each of these stores where staff will greet customers and retrieve their shopping lists, to save vulnerable customers from having the need to leave the car or enter the store. Directions will be clearly marked with signage.

While waiting for the Avoca team to collect and return groceries, customers will receive a complimentary cup of tea or coffee to enjoy in the comfort of their car. It is suggested that shoppers using this service pre-order and pre-pay for their shopping. If customers are unable to do so, Avoca will provide the option of remote contactless payment.

The service will run daily at the Kilmacanogue store. The company said it hopes this service will be helpful and comforting to the elderly and more at-risk members of the community.

Meanwhile, Avoca is also expanding its complimentary delivery service to include ‘Avoca at Home Catering’, to give shoppers access to food and beverages such as butter, milk, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables and pasta.

The service operates within a 10km radius of the Kilmacanogue, Dunboyne and Rathcoole stores.

There is a minimum order of €50 to avail of the complimentary delivery service and delivery will be made within two working days of an order. Customers can also collect their shopping in-store.

Orders can be placed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for home delivery or collection, by contacting Avoca Kilmacanogue by calling 01 2746951 or emailing Kilmac-foodmarket@avoca.com.
