Hundreds log in for online Mass around the parishes

-

FR John O’Connell of St Anne’s parish in Shankill said that viewers are accessing Mass online from all over the world.

On Thursday morning alone, there were 352 views.

‘ They included viewers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Poland and Turkey, as well as other parishes in Ireland,’ he said.

Masses in Shankill, Bray and Greystones are being carried out and streamed without a congregation.

Fr O’Connell said that viewers abroad could be natives of Shankill, or unrelated to the parish.

He said that parishes are waiting for directions from the archdiocese regarding Easter arrangements. ‘ The hope is that we will do the services, again without a congregation. We will do the ceremonies in a more simple way.’ He said that of course the washing of the feet will not occur on Holy Thursday.

Aside from different arrangements for the Easter period, Masses are being broadcast from stannesparishshankill. com Monday to Saturday at 10 a.m. and on Sundays at 10.30 am.

At St Peter’s Church in Little Bray, Irish Mass is being broadcast on Sundays at 9.30 a.m. and Mass is also streamed at 11 a.m. on Sundays, both at stpetersparishbray.com.

The Church of the Holy Rosary and St Kilian in Greystones is streaming Mass at greystonesparish.ie, at 10 a.m. Monday to Friday and on Sundays at 11.30 a.m.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be available online from Holy Rosary Church from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The view of the Sanctuary will also be available outside of these times for prayerful reflection.
