Mass numbers reduced

-

WITH churches having reopened last Monday, June 29, it is now possible to visit the Little Flower Oratory at the Holy Redeemer Church in Bray for prayer.

The church itself remains closed for renovation, unrelated to Covid-19.

The oratory will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

To protect those who would like to attend Mass, a number of regulations have to be followed.

Due to social distancing, the maximum number of people who can attend Mass in the Little Flower Oratory (LFO) is 33.

Just like entering a supermarket, entering the oratory is being regulated.

A team of parishioners has very kindly volunteered to steward.

After each Mass the seats have to be sanitised.

Again, this has been arranged.

On Sunday, the number of those who would like to attend Mass will be higher, neighbouring churches have made their churches available.

Mass times at the Little Flower Oratory will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Sundays, Mass will be at

St Fergal’s at 12 midday, and Queen of Peace at 6 p.m.

Since the LFO is restricted to 33 people, those who would like attend will be asked to limit attendance to one day per week. In this way, when the seating area is full, those who were not able to enter will be invited to come to Mass on the next occasion.

Likewise, those who have attended during the week will be asked not to attend on a Sunday, to leave room for those who are working or cannot attend during the week, when Masses will be celebrated in St Fergal’s and Queen of Peace

AN application has been made to Wicklow County Council for the construction of offices and the change of use of a ground floor cottage from residential to retail. The site, called ‘Mentone’, takes in Helena Cottage on Church Road in the centre of Greystones.

Applicant Seamus Martin is looking for change of use from residential to retail on the ground floor, offices (first floor) and alterations including construction of a new shopfront and entrance, internal modifications, removal of the existing front boundary wall etc. and the erection of a shed (8.4sqm) for storage purposes at the rear of the existing garden area and all associated site works. The site is located in an Architectural Conservation Area. A decision is due by July 18.
