CHRIST CHURCH COI

Services of Worship Update: We resume Services this Sunday with a short 10 a.m. Short Said Service. We will continue our 11 a.m. Live Stream services for the foreseeable future with Holy Communion on Sunday. Our Compliance Officer is Robert Sparkes as our overriding priority id the safety of all those who are attending. If you have symptoms of Covid-19, fever, a cough, shortness of breath or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, or of it you have been in contact with someone who has these symptoms, or is quarantining, please do not come to church. Our ability to help you will be hampered by current restrictions. Please contact the Rector for pastoral support. Steps to be followed when attending Church: When you arrive please observe two metre distancing in the car park and in the church. Clear signage will be in place. Our Stewards will carry out a tracking and tracing process as you enter the church – visitors are to give contact details to the steward. You may sit together as a family or as a household group, but if you come alone you will need to sit by yourself. You may not be able to sit in your usual pews as some pews will be cordoned off to ensure social distancing. We are limited to a maximum of 50 people being present in the church. Hand sanitizer etc will be available as you enter the church.

We will be using service sheets Powerpoint. There will be no Hymn books, Bibles or Prayer books. Please take your sheets away with you. Our stewards will guide you where to sit. There will be a retiring collection – online donations continue to be welcome. There will be no tea or coffee in order to reduce the amount of contact time and to ensure a smooth exit from the building. If the building is exposed to a person with Covid-19 related symptoms, it will be closed for 72 hours. There will be no singing, for now at the 10 a.m. said service. Wee an all-age community, however as we adjust to the ‘new normal’ of In-Church worship we would suggest that families with young children do not attend for the couple of weeks in order to allow our older members times to adjust and to settle into coming back to church. Please contact the Rector if you have any concerns about this or about returning to church and he can arrange for you to visit the church prior to the service to familiarise yourself with the new arrangements. Face coverings are currently optional – please bring your own. In the absence of specific guidelines we will be encouraging the wearing of masks/ coverings. If you have medical reasons not to wear them, please let the Rector know. If the advice changes, we will follow and adhere. Remember – leave no trace, do not congregate. The current Covid-19 information sheet will be reviewed and updated during July and will be amended and re-issued with the next issue of the In-Touch parish newsletter at the end of July. Please keep an eye on the parish website – christchurchbray.ie and Facebook page for more information and please contact the Rector to add your name to the CCB Alerts What’s App list. Alternative ways of worship and prayers will be posted on the website as well as information helpful for the individual or families struggling to adapt to the times that we are currently in. This Sundays Holy Communion Service will be at 11 a.m. and can be viewed online at the following link – churchservices.tv/ christchurchbray. Service sheets available to view or download from our website christchurchbray.ie.

HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

Urgent Update for all Masses: The Archbishop of Dublin has announced that everyone is dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass for the duration of the present emergency. Check the RTÉ schedule for broadcast Mass times. Mass is also brought broadcast through EWTN, Radio Maria, channel which can be found in Saorview and Channel 210.

Masses in the Little Flower Oratory: To protect those who would like to attend Mass, a number of regulations have to be followed: Due to social distancing, the maximum number of people who can attend Mass in the Little Flower Oratory (LFO) is 33. Entering LFO has to be regulated, just like entering a supermarket. A team of parishioners have very kindly volunteered to steward. After each Mass the seats have to be sanitised. Again, this has been arranged. On Sunday, the number of those who would like to attend Mass will be higher. Neighbouring parishes have very kindly made their churches available to Holy Redeemer parishioners. Mass Times: 10 a.m. – Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Little Flower Oratory. midday Sunday in St Fergal’s Church, and 6 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady Queen of Peace. Since the LFO is restricted to 33 people, those who would like attend will be asked to limit attendance to one day per week. In this way, when the seating area is full, those who were not able to enter will be invited to come to Mass on the next occasion. Likewise, those who have attended during the week will be asked not to attend on a Sunday, to leave room for those who are working or cannot attend during the week, when Masses will be celebrated in St Fergal’s and Queen of Peace. Parish office: Remains closed. To Book a Mass: Please call the sacristy at 01 286 8413 from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.

ST PETER’S PARISH

Mass Update: The Archbishop of Dublin has announced that everyone is dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass for the duration of the present emergency. Mass will be broadcast on the parish website at 9.30 a.m. (Irish) and 11.30 a.m. (English) – Google Chrome required. Up to 25 immediate family and close friends may now attend a funeral but social distancing must be observed. While churches and houses of worship were permitted to reopen last Monday, guidelines received from the Government and the Diocese Office are being worked on by the St Peter’s Parish Pastoral Council to facilitate the resumption of Masses.

Mass Intentions: Any Mass intentions booked for the coming weeks will be streamed on the 9.30 a.m., and 11.30 a.m. Masses on Sunday mornings.

Parish office: The parish office will remain open for the time being – however due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) it is preferable if all business could be conducted by telephone by calling 01 282 4967 or email stpeterslittlebray1@ eircom.net.

ST FERGAL’S PARISH

St Fergal’s Church Re-opening Mass: Public Mass resumed in the church yesterday (Tuesday) at 9.30 a.m. It’s wonderful to be able to welcome you all back to St Fergal’s Church (albeit in reduced numbers) for the present. The situation we find ourselves in at is time is daunting, and we have had to make a few changes to ensure that above all, we all stay safe, and that we are abiding by the HSE Guidelines. Measures have been put in place to ensure the safe Entry to, and Exit from, our church. But, most importantly we must ensure that the Sacraments be celebrated in a Holy and Prayerful way. We ask for your patience over the next few weeks, and to work with us, till we find a way back that is manageable, and above all safe for everyone. There are a couple of changes which I need to make you aware of before we begin Mass. Please sanitize your hands on entering the church. There will be no collection baskets distributed during Mass, but we ask that the envelopes which will be handed out as you enter the church on Sundays be used for your offerings, and that these envelopes be dropped into either the Wooden Boxes, or the Baskets at the back of the church, as you leave. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19-Pandemic, there were no Easter Dues Envelopes distributed from the church this year, but there are Dues Envelopes available for collection from the tables at the back of the church, and if you could contribute at this late stage it would be very much appreciated. The Dues collection money is used in conjunction with the First Collection to pay the Priests Wages, and to support the sick, and retired priests across the diocese, and as you can imagine there has been a huge shortfall in this fund over the past few months. The next item I need to inform you about is the distribution of Holy Communion. For the foreseeable future, this will take place at the end of Mass so people will not be returning to their seats, and this will help to alleviate another social distancing problem. So, please follow the arrows, and approach the Altar row by row, up the SIDE Aisles, and leave the church immediately by the CENTRE Aisle as this is how it will be done. Please fill the seats row by row using the seat markings, and do not delay leaving the church, or the church grounds, as there is a time limit in place for all gatherings at the moment, and we need to sanitise the church after each Mass. Unfortunately the toilets in the church must remain closed. Parents: We ask that all children remain seated during Mass. There will be no missalettes, newsletters, or newspapers available in the church for the foreseeable future, but all our parish information will be available on the website. We will do our best to keep you updated with any changes that may occur, but for the moment, once again, I ask for your patience and tolerance, this situation we find ourselves in is a learning curve for all of us. Thank you. – Fr Jimmy McPartland. Co PP Bray and Enniskerry Pastoral Area. Please note that once the church has reached its permitted seating capacity for a Mass, no further admissions will be permitted and please follow the instructions of the stewards on duty. Advice for the people: From Archbishop Martin: The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays is suspended. Our experience of Mass will be different for many months yet. Do your best not to block the doors entering and leaving. Do your best to respect physical distancing. Sanitize your hands on entry. Please go to and remain in the place shown you by volunteer stewards. There is no physical Sign of Peace till further notice. Please leave patiently and promptly after Mass. Try to keep the lighting of candles at shrines to private visits to your church when it is open at times other than for Mass. Remember that hand sanitizer can be flammable, so ensure your hands are completely dry before lighting candles.

At soon as it is possible canoeing will commence when the club hopes to have changed their canoes from sit in type to the easier to use sit on ones. There are lots of more vacancies for new members and leaders. Call Paul at 086 3516630 to make application.
