BROCKAGH RESOURCE CENTRE

The centre is now open and will operate during Monday to Friday 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. opening at the weekend for different group bookings.

We look forward to welcoming all our friends, clients, groups and volunteers back to the centre.

As a community centre, every precaution to prevent the spread of Covid 19 when reopening will be implemente­d. Some of these include, but not limited to Single Entry and Exit System, collection outside the back door of children from classes, hand sanitisati­on, check in reception. Your safety is our priority and we can assure you that all recommende­d social distancing protocols will be in place.

Our Sustainabl­e Community Gardening Course will run the last two classes on July 6 and 13. Please email or phone if you have any suggestion on what you would like to see happening in the centre or any ideas for upcoming classes.

COUNTRY MARKET/ CAR BOOT SALES

We are delighted to have our traders and customers back on July 12 Sun, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bargains on practicall­y anything from household items to garden additions, and even vintage or antique treasures. Encouragin­g local and non-local producers of plants, vegetables, crafts etc.Vans must be booked in.

Important Notice: because of the new social distancing we are more limited in available trader spaces as a result when you book payment must be made to a secure place as a trader, this applies to outdoor and indoor spaces.

SYNGE AND WICKLOW

Local theatre maker Cliona O’Connell, and Aughrim based actress Andrea Kelly would love to talk to people in the area who have any knowledge or stories relating to the playwright JM Synge, or the Synge family and their connection to the area. Do you have any stories?

We are currently working on the developmen­t of a new theatre project sited in the county, re-imagining Synge’s life, work and connection to Wicklow. This project is funded under the Wicklow Artist Award Scheme 2020.

TIDY TOWNS

MEETINGS RETURN – There will be a Tidy Towns meeting on Wednesday, July 15, at 7.30 p.m. in the Brockagh Centre. Everyone is welcome to come along.

CLEAN UP – We hope you can join us on Wednesday, July 1, 7 p.m., to meet outside Lynhams Hotel for a clean-up.

YOGA

Yoga is back on July 2 in the spacious main hall of the centre. Booking is essential to ensure it is safe for you to attend. Call Louise at 087 6032202.

About Vinyasa Yoga: The practice will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibilit­y, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life. Classes from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

About Chair Yoga: Chair/ Seated Yoga is suitable for those who find a regular yoga class too strenuous, are recovering from injury or illness or are generally less active and mobile. Classes from from 11.30 to 12.30 a.m.
