Little change in North Wicklow 14-day figure

THE local electoral area of Bray East had 36 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the period from September 29 to October 12. There was no change for the area from the previously measured period of September 22 to October 5.

The incidence rate of Bray East was 210.2 cases per 100,000 people. At that time, the national incidence rate was 177.2 per 100,00.

The population of Bray East is 17,127.

In Bray West, there were 24 confirmed cases between September 29 and October 12, and an incidence rate of 120.4.

This was an increase from 20 confirmed cases in the period from September 22 to October 5.

The population of Bray West is 18,404 and the area includes parts of Ballywaltr­im, Fassaroe, Kilmacanog­ue and Enniskerry. The population figures are based on the 2016 census.

During the period September 22 to October 5, the national incidence rate was 116.4 cases per 100,000 people.

Greystones Municipal District includes Newcastle, Kilcoole, Delgany and Kiladreena­n, and has a population of 26,323.

From September 9 to October 12, 17 cases were recorded in the Greystones district, an incidence rate of 64.6.

In the period from September 22 to October 5, there were 16 cases in Greystones and an incidence rate of 60.8.

In more recently published figures, based on data up to midnight on October 14, the county of Wicklow as a whole had the lowest incidence rate in the country at 111 cases or 77.9 per 100,000 over the previous 14 days.

The national rate as of October 14 was 206.7 per 100,000, based on 9,873 cases.
