Monday Morning Parish Prayers: A small group have begun meeting (via Zoom) on Monday mornings at midday to pray for our parish community and future plans. All are welcome to join. Mass Update: The Archbishop of Dublin reminds everyone that they are still dispensed from the obligation of physically attending Sunday Mass during the present emergency. Sunday Mass is broadcast on the parish website at 9.30 a.m. (Irish) and 11.30 a.m. (English) – Google Chrome required. Up to 25 immediate family and close friends can attend a funeral but social distancing must be observed.
Mass Times: Sunday – 9.30 a.m. Irish Mass and 11.30 a.m.; First Friday: 11.30 a.m.; Holy Days: 11.30 a.m. Any Mass intentions booked for the coming weeks will be streamed on the 11.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. Masses on Sunday mornings. Due to Level 3 Restrictions all Masses will be streamed online at churchservices.tv. At present the church will remain open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for private prayer. No Dumping: There is strictly no dumping allowed in the area of the cemetery and we request that visitors help to keep the cemetery tidy by taking any rubbish home. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Masses in St Fergal’s Church: Suspended for the duration of the current Level 3 Lockdown.
Advice from Archbishop Martin: The obligation to physically attend Mass on Sundays remains suspended. Try to keep the lighting of candles at shrines to private visits to your church when it is open at times other than for Mass. Remember that as hand sanitizer can be flammable, please ensure your hands are completely dry before lighting candles.
Baptisms: Those scheduled for last Saturday and November have been cancelled as no sacraments can be celebrated during the current Level 3 Lockdown.
First Holy Communion: Last Saturdays First Holy Communion was cancelled and the School will contact parents with alternative dates subject to Lockdown Level 3 being lifted in the near future as no sacraments can be celebrated during the current Lockdown.

Mass: All Masses are celebrated on online due to Level 3 restrictions. The church will be open for private prayer after Mass at 11 a.m. and has been laid out for private prayer with assigned seating and signage to maintain social distancing. The church will close at 5om daily. The obligation to physically attend Mass has been suspended by Pope Francis for the time being. All Masses are broadcast through our Parish Webcam accessible through the parish website – queenofpeace. ie.
Online Masses: The new Mass schedule is – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 10.30 a.m. No Mass on Wednesday or Saturday. Any intentions booked for Saturday evening or Sunday Masses will be offered at the Sunday 10.30 a.m. Mass. Week day Masses that have been booked will be offered online as the church is closed for public worship.

QOP YOUTH CLUB
Queen of Peace adventure Youth Club welcomes new leader Geraldine. Geraldine is a very experienced canoeist and she will be a great advantage to the club. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions the club membership is gradually increasing, and the leaders are keeping the members active as much as possible within the safety restrictions. DIVING CLUB
Bray Divers Sub-aqua club are preparing for a number of training courses to be run immediately as the covid19 restrictions are lessened. This includes boat handling for diving, use of buddy lines, and training for various levels of diving. For information about diving call Albert at 087 6756439.

BRAY CUALANN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The planned October and November talks of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, have been cancelled due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases being reported.
In the meantime members and supporters and catch up on their reading with the 2020 issue of the Dublin Historical Record published by the Old Dublin Society which includes – ‘Fairview Park 1900 – 1930: forgotten achievements and landscapes’ by Noel Carolan; Elizabeth Pilkington in ‘The Oratory, Dún Laoghaire’ provides a history of the oratory, built in 1919;Colm Lennon in ‘Richard Stanihurst (1547 – 1618): Dublin’s earliest historian’ provides a biography of this noted early historian; in ‘130 Thomas Street, Dublin’s oldest house and one family there’ John Hussey contributes a history of what is considered the earliest domestic dwellings to survive in Dublin; Francis Devine in ‘The Ancient Home of Trade Unionism – Glimpses of the National Society of Bushmakers in Ireland, 1839-1955’ traces the history of this trade union which began in the 1830 when brushmakers became organised to improve pay and working conditions in an industry characterised by low pay, precarious employment and hazardous work; Brian McCabe in ‘Some notes on the history of Kilbride church and graveyard, Co. Dublin’ provides a brief history of this ruined church and graveyard which lies just outside the gates of Casement aerodrome, Baldonnell, Co. Dublin; Raymond Gillespie in ‘Dublin History and Four Courts Press’ writes about the great contribution made to the publication of Dublin history by this publishing house; Tom Conlon in ‘The Foundation of St Michael’s Hospital, Dún Laoghaire’ reveals how this hospital, now part of the St Vincent’s group of hospitals, and one of three on Dublin’s southside, was established in 1876, and provided a major boost to the health facilities available in the town; Patrick Salmon in ‘The Hunt family and Milltown Castle’ traces the history of Milltown Castle, of which no trace remains today; The late Mary O’Connell, who died earlier this year, in ‘Prudence Brice and the Clothes Brothers of Dublin’, in what was her last paper submitted to the Old Dublin Society, in what is partially a family history, provides a valuable account of aspects of social conditions in the inner-city of 19th century Dublin.
