Cookery classes with Ciara’s Kitchen for the whole family

- By MARY FOGARTY

CIARA’S Kitchen based in Delgany has launched a series of online cookery classes available to access over the coming months.

Since going into lockdown last year, Ciara Gorman Fennessy has moved all cooking classes online.

Coming up soon, classes include sessions on classic dishes for kids; hearty meals, entertaining, a taste of Asia, Irish classic dinners, family dinners, vegetarian cooking and more.

The children’s recipes are very easy and aimed at eight to 12 year olds.

Classes are suitable for children who are younger if they need some help in the kitchen.

Minimum equipment is required, just something to blend soup, some baking trays,

weighing scales and a little prep beforehand.

Children’s recipes include vegetable soup, chocolate chip cookies, brown soda bread and naan bread pizza.

Recipes are emailed 48 hours before each class.

Classes cost €20 each or three for €50. To book, go to ciaraskitchen.ie/demos.

Alternatively, call 086 3848148.

Ciara left behind a busy marketing career and headed to the world famous Ballymaloe cooking school in 2004 to be taught under the watchful eye of Darina and Rachel Allen.

She then started as a chef in Avoca Handweavers and from there moved to Brambles Café whilst also teaching at Cooks Academy.

Ciara was passionate about teaching cooking and so set up Ciara’s Kitchen from her home in Delgany, which she shares with husband Ronan and twins, Holly and Freddie.
