School tries for more backers ahead of French trip

-

ST JOSEPH’S CBS are stepping up their push for additional sponsors ahead of an exciting rugby trip to the Phillipe Saint-Andre Academy in the French Alps this autumn.

The Drogheda school is running the trip as part of its plans to drive the expansion of rugby, with opportunities for travel and career development also a major factor.

The Academy in Tignes is where all elite French Olympic athletes go to train and Saint-Andre has just opened a new state-of-the-art rugby facility there which is used by top French clubs Toulon and Biarritz.

The party from St Joseph’s will travel there via Geneva from September 6th to 11th for what they are calling ‘intensive skills development’, featuring biometric analysis, fitness tests and intense skills training.

Next term the Juniors and Seniors will be playing all the top schools in Dublin like Templeogue and De la Salle Churchtown, such has been the pace of the teams’ progress. It was felt that such a trip would help in St Joseph’s attempts to win silverware and put themselves on the map as a rugby-playing stalwart.

Having already received financial help from such companies as Specsavers, Glanbia and Smyth Solicitors, St Joseph’s are hoping to secure additional sponsors and enquiries or offers of help can be made by phoning the school or emailing joeys61english@gmail.com.
