There will also be kiddies races on the day, with medals for all children.

VETERAN St Peter’s AC thrower Tom McGrane (pictured right) achieved his best shot putt throw since 2014 when finishing a creditable fourth in Saturday’s annual Le Cheile International track and field meeting in Leixlip.
McGrane loves to compete and does so at every opportunity, and although he could take the easier option and compete in the Masters category he always chooses the Senior section where the weights are heavier and competition much tougher.her.
He has had mixed fortunes so far this year, but certainlyly enjoyed a returnn to form at the weekend when he threw 9.74m, a season’s best and his longest throww in two years.
This earned him a fourth-place finish, nish, which was just outside the medalsmedals, but rediscovering coverinrediscovering his form made the journey wortworthwhile and St Peter’s AC are fortunate to have such a role model for their up and comcoming throwers. MeMeanwhile, this Friday the annual Glenmore 55k Road Race will take place in Carlingford, preceded by juvenile races. It is hoped that St Peter’s will have a large turnout of athletes. There is a break from training tonight (Tuesday), but it returns as normal next Tuesday.
St Peter’s would like to congratulate and send best wishes to their coach Kathleen McConnell on her selection as part of the coaching party for the Irish team which will travel to Wales this week to compete in the Celtic Games.
