Coaching officer Eamon Barry highlighted a number of issues he was unhappy with and had a go at his own county management committee. He said he was fed up with the way he was being treated in the county and felt he was being made dirt of.

Later in the meeting he called for an investigation into alleged incidents at an U-17 match between Drumconrath/Meath Hill and Wolfe Tones.

Meath GAA is to hold a commemoration on county final day to honour the four Meath men who were killed during the 1916 Rising and also those from the county who took part in the fighting on Easter week.

There will be an unveiling of a plaque to remember the four volunteers who died, as well as the reading of the Proclamation by the captains of the county senior teams.

Curraha player Danny Battersby, who collapsed during the IFC game against Drumbaragh in Kilberry on Sunday, was wished a speedy recovery. Players and officials from both clubs, as well as the Wolfe Tones club, were complimented on their prompt action, while the importance of having a defibrillator at grounds was stressed.

Later in the meeting the Curraha delegate reported that the condition of the player had improved.

Brian Carberry of the Health and Wellbeing Committee said support was being offered to the player’s family as well as the Curraha club.
