Three men in armed raid at local Centra

RAIDERS, CARRYING A GUN AND A GOLF CLUB, DEMANDED CASH AND CIGS

TERRIFIED staff were forced to hand over cash and cigarettes after three armed men burst into the Centra shop in Mornington last Wednesday night.

Gardai in Laytown are investigat­ing the armed robbery, which happened shortly after 9pm at the well known local outlet in East Meath.

The three males entered the premises and confronted and threatened staff, forcing them to hand over cash and cigarettes.

One of the raiders was carrying a gun while another had what is believed to be a golf club.

The three were also carrying a pink duvet in which they ordered staff to place the cigarettes.

The first man is described as being of tall and thin build, he was wearing a dark coloured jacket with the hood pulled up, grey tracksuit bottoms and dark runners. He was wearing black and grey runners.

The second man is said to have spoken with a Dublin accent, he was wearing a greygreen hoodie with a circular logo and had a mask covering his face and dirty white-grey runners.

The third raider was wearing a dark hoodie, dark trousers and was wearing a baseball cap.

The three men left the scene in a gold coloured car, possibly an old model Mazda 323.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Drogheda are appealing for informatio­n following the theft of two vehicles in Termonfeck­in overnight on Wednesday sometime between 12am and 6am.

The first vehicle was a cappuccino coloured Landcruise­r with the registrati­on 162-LH- 593 while the second was a black Nissan Qashqai with the registrati­on 152-LH-267.

The vehicles were taken from Duffs Farm, Termonfeck­in.
